The Mount Pleasant Junior High School Advanced Dance Team (ADT) competed at the Marching Auxiliaries Dance Nationals at College Park Center on the campus of The University of Texas at Arlington on March 28 and 29. The team competed in the small Junior High/Middle School division with a novelty, a hip hop, and a pom routine and brought home five awards.

ADT placed 1st in their division with all three of their routines. And they were named the National Champion First Place Team Best in Class in the small Junior High/Middle School team division for having the highest total number of points for their 3 routines.

In addition, seventh grader, Jaicee Amador, placed 2nd in the Youth Public School solo division, less than two points behind first place.

The MPJH ADT will perform in the Tiger Doll Spring Show on April 18 and 19, the Wallace Dance Showcase on May 8, and the Junior High Dance Recital on May 10. They will host their annual ADT Dance Clinic on Friday, May 2 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. And they will have their tryout clinic from May 12-14 with tryouts for the 2025-2026 year on May 15. The MPJH Dance program is under the direction of Erica Davidson-Curley.
