Tiger Soccer All-District Selections Announced
The Mount Pleasant boys’ soccer team had another historic run this season advancing all the way to the regional tournament. The Tigers finished the season 20-4-4 overall and went 11-0-1 in district to complete the undefeated district championship. Mount Pleasant was rewarded for their efforts with three players earning superlatives and eight players named to first and second teams.
Jason Mayfield picked up the Coach of the Year honor which has become the norm for the majority of his career. Most Valuable Player went to senior Guillermo Sanchez with senior JD Mendoza picking up the Offensive MVP award and senior Babi Gandara notching Co-Goalkeeper of the Year with his play in the net.
First team All-District selections were earned by seniors Allen Ledesma, Francisco Equihua, JR Martinez, and Gaizka Gutierrez. Junior Erick Soto was also awarded first team for his district performance. Second team All-District went to senior Pedro Zuniga, junior Ernesto Hernandez, and sophomore Chino Barboza.
