The Mount Pleasant golf teams wrapped up district play this week with the both the Tigers and Lady Tigers looking to advance to the next round. The district competitions were held at The Tempest Golf Club near Gladewater.

The boys teed off March 28-29, posting a two-day total of 655. This put the Tigers in 3rd place with the top two teams advancing to the regional tournament. Leading the way for the Tigers was junior Matthew Peterson who shot a 153 tying him for 4th overall and advancing to the regional tournament in Rockwall April 18-19. Senior Sam Sloan shot a 166 followed by senior George Burrows 169. Juniors Kade Strickland and Clayton Brison posted a 170 and 181 respectively, and seniors Brady Sisk and Jackson Stone scored marks of 177 and 170.

The Lady Tigers played their tournament March 30-31 with senior Grelyn Goolsby shooting a team-best 165, placing in third overall and qualifying for the regional tournament in Rockwall April 20-21. Sophie Greco posted a two-day score of 190 and Reese Ball shot a 207 along with Caroline Currey’s 237.
