MPHS Tiger Soccer Team Members Earn Superlative Honors

Three Mount Pleasant High School Tiger soccer team members earned All-State distinctions while eleven earned All-District honors for their performance during the 2019 soccer season.

Seniors Tony Freer and Alex Guzman were named to the All-State 2nd team while fellow senior Matthew Sunderland earned Honorable Mention All-State honors.  Coach Jason Mayfield was named the Region 2 State Coach of the Year.

Guzman was also named the All-District MVP.  Sunderland also earned All-District Keeper of the Year, while Guillermo Sanchez was named
All-District Newcomer of the Year.  Mayfield was also named the District Coach of the Year.  Joining them on the All-District 1st Team were Marcus Perez, Edgar Ramirez, Jazheel Yepez, and Joseph Gongora.

Named to the All-District 2nd Team were Freer, Osmar Jimenez, Brian Ramirez, and Manuel Rosas.
