Sixteen students at Mount Pleasant High School earned 28 academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. Students who take the PSAT in their sophomore or junior year can earn up to three awards based on their score. The School Recognition* award is presented to those who are among the top 10% of test takers in their school. The First-Generation+ award goes to those who score in the top 10% of identified first-generation test takers in the state of Texas. And Rural and Small-Town# recognitions are given to the top 10% of rural and small-town test takers in the state of Texas.

MPHS honorees include Maria Regalado Beltran*+#, Luke Brown*#, Areli Castanon+, Yaretzie Clavel+, Lincoln Dyke*#, Elias Garcia Oliva#, Mario Hernandez*+, Axel Mata Macias+, Jesus Mata+, Allison Mendoza+, Declan O’Quinn*#, Bowdrie Priefert*#, Araceli Salazar*+#, Jeremiah Saulsbury+#, Mary Beth Snyder*#, and Jacob Terrell*#.

Eligible students are invited to apply during their sophomore or junior year and are awarded at the beginning of the next school year. Students receive their awards in time to include them on their college and scholarship applications.
