The Mount Pleasant Speech and Debate Team has exciting news to share.  The team of Nathon Segovia and Nadieska Oviedo finished 3rd overall.  They went 5-1 on the day only losing to Hallsville in the Semifinals at the UIL District tournament.  The team of Anthony Preciado and Seth Robertson finished 2-2 and that was good enough to earn them a 5th place ranking.  Audrey Courreges and Devon Reynolds finished 2-2 and earned a 7th place ranking. The entire team is comprised of sophomores and freshman. The future is very bright for Mount Pleasant Speech and Debate. Of the top four teams this year, our sophomore team is the only returning team. The students have already set their goals for next year to finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd! Go Tigers!
