The MPHS Cosmetology department had a soft opening on Tuesday, November 12 providing services to invited guests. Students in Cosmetology II gave haircuts, blow drying, and styling, performed a variety of waxing services, and gave manicures, pedicures, and gel nail applications. Guests included volunteers from the Titus County Retired Teachers Association, employees at the MPISD Administration building, school board members, and invited community members.

The Cosmetology department plans to fully open to the public on Tuesday, November 19 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, January 14. Providing services to the public allows the students to accumulate the number of hours needed toward earning their cosmetology license. Appointments are encouraged and can be made by calling 903-434-8658. The services offered and prices are included in the photos with this post.

Mount Pleasant High School offers three years of instruction in Cosmetology starting with an introductory course for sophomores, followed by Cosmetology I and Cosmetology II for juniors and seniors. Students completing the program can graduate with their cosmetology license at the same time as their high school diploma and immediately begin working in the cosmetology field.
