Mount Pleasant High School choir students junior Alyssa Reynolds and freshman Jonathan Swiger have earned places in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-Region Choir. Senior Abby Sneed placed as an alternate.

To earn a place in the choir, the three each had to sing a solo piece before a panel of judges, not an easy task for a high school student.

“I am proud of Jonathan, Alyssa and Abby for putting in the extra hours of practice to prepare for the audition and congratulate each of them,” MPHS Choir Director Luke Dean said. “Jonathan and Alyssa will perform at the All-Region Choir Concert November 11 in Mt. Pleasant and will audition for Pre-Area November 28 in Gilmer. Abby may also have the opportunity to audition in Gilmer in November.”

Swiger is a tenor 2 while Alyssa and Abby are alto 1’s.
