MPHS Athletes to Play in Red River FCA All Star Showdown Games
Eight Mount Pleasant High School senior athletes have been chosen to play in the 2022 Red River Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) All Star Showdown. Athletes were drafted from multiple schools in our area to play in football, basketball, and baseball games in June. The Red River FCA created the All Star Showdown to bring glory to God, bring recognition to the work of FCA in the Red River region, and to highlight the talent of coaches and athletes in Texas and Arkansas. Each player was nominated by the head coach of their respective sport. Only 300 athletes will have the privilege of participating in football, basketball, baseball, softball, and cheer.
Athletes chosen from MPHS were Nic Chappell (football), Anthony Jeffery (football), Astin Ledbetter (football), Elijah Morris (basketball), Layne Pinckard (baseball and football), Devon Smith (football), and Keller Thompson (baseball).
In addition, MPHS Athletic Director, Ritchie Pinckard, will serve as the head coach of the Texas football team.
The Red River FCA will host the All Star Showdown in Texarkana with the basketball game on June 2, the football game on June 3, and the baseball game on June 15.
