For the second time this year, the Mount Pleasant High School Academic UIL team brought home the first-place trophy. This time it was from the North Lamar Meet where the MPHS team beat 21 teams. They earned 355 points, 116 more than the second-place team from Princeton High School.
Mt. Pleasant took first place in Calculator Applications, Current Events, Journalism and Mathematics. The team placed second in Literary Criticism, Spelling and Science. Social Studies team placed third.
“I am so proud of these students and their coaches,” said MPHS Academic UIL Coordinator Regina Crouch. “They work extremely hard preparing for these meets. They not only work in class but after school as well. It takes a lot of time and their efforts are paying off!”
Many students earned individual medals in addition to the team medals they won. Individual results in each category:

Mount Pleasant High School will host a meet this Friday and Saturday. Thirty-two schools have registered for the meet.
