Mount Pleasant High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Area 6 State Vice President, Isaac Hernandez, and Middle School Ambassadors, Anna Henry and Mallory Mancera, attended Officer Training (OT) on June 8-12 at Camp Copass in Denton to prepare for the upcoming year. Also attending were MPHS FBLA Adviser John Whitten and Middle School Adviser Dana Armstrong.

While at the camp, Hernandez, Henry, and Mancera networked with other state officers from across the state. They participated in ropes courses and outdoor team-building activities, learned how to introduce speakers, and planned for the upcoming school year which includes hosting the Fall Area Workshop and Fall Leadership Conference in Mount Pleasant. Hernandez also presented a speech on Free Enterprise to all state officers and their advisors. His speech incorporated a deck of cards he used as a pathway to having success as a business and the steps it takes.

Whitten, who is the State Advisor for Area 6 and FBLA Board President, presented a workshop on the history of Texas FBLA and its importance along with how to run a successful Area workshop, incorporating what has been successful for Area 6.

“Officer Training camp provides an awesome opportunity for Isaac to begin networking with state officers and other area vice presidents from around the state,” Whitten said. “Isaac along with our incoming middle school ambassadors were able to learn leadership skills throughout the week that will prepare them for success in the 2026-2027 school year.

Whitten continued, “Seeing the growth in Isaac was encouraging as he learned the necessary skills to help prepare an area workshop, watching him grow as a speaker and seeing him network with a new officer team. I am looking forward to continued growth and to see how Isaac will help continue to shape the growth of Area 6 going forward,” Whitten said.

Hernandez will head up the area leadership team which includes Area 6 President Camauri Adams. MPHS chapter President for the upcoming school year is Sage Jordan.
