Record Number of MPHS FBLA Students Advance to State
The Area 6 FBLA Leadership Conference on Tuesday, December 9 at the Region 8 Educational Service Center featured more than 400 competitors representing 10 schools in our area. Of the record 118 competitors representing Mount Pleasant High School, MPHS had a very successful day with 85 members qualifying for state, three of those qualifying in two different events. Thirty-six individuals earned 1st place in their respective events at the area conference and MPHS placed 1st in 19 of the 45 events they entered. For the second time, MPHS has surpassed the 100-member mark with 124 members total and is the 10th largest chapter in the state of Texas behind schools in Katy, Keller, and Austin.

In addition to competing, MPHS junior, Camauri Burwell, was elected the FBLA Area 6 President for 2026-2027. And MPHS senior, Brissia Alvarez, was the 2025-2026 Who’s Who Area 6 recipient.
Advancing students will compete at the FBLA State Leadership Conference at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock on March 1-3, 2026. MPHS FBLA Advisors are John Whitten, Shanta Lockett, Raquel Yanez, and Tracy Porter.
