Mount Pleasant High School Cosmetology seniors ventured out into the “real world” on Friday, October 11.  Their first stop was at Greenhill Villas where students gave manicures to the residents in preparation for their Senior Gala on October 17. “It was a heartwarming experience filled with smiles, connection, and lots of fun,” said MPHS Cosmetology instructor, Aleshia Rivera.

Afterward, the students visited Glossy Nail Lounge, where they had the opportunity to chat with Ellie Ruiz, an MPHS Cosmetology program graduate and industry professional, to learn more about the world of nail care.

Mount Pleasant High School offers three years of instruction in Cosmetology starting with an introductory course for sophomores, followed by Cosmetology I and Cosmetology II for juniors and seniors.  Students completing the program can graduate with their cosmetology license at the same time as their high school diploma and immediately begin working in the cosmetology field.
