Vivian Fowler Inducts Students into NEHS
Thirty Vivian Fowler Elementary School 4th graders became members of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) as the Campbell-Edwards-White NEHS Chapter held its 2024-2025 induction ceremony on Thursday, October 3. The Vivian Fowler NEHS chapter is named for two former Fowler teachers, Sandra Campbell and Sue Edwards, and one current teacher, Mae Lois White. Campbell and Edwards each taught at the school for 25 years while White has spent over 50 years of teaching at Fowler.
The ceremony was student led with multiple inductees participating in aspects of the event. Lucas Morris welcomed everyone in attendance. Eden Harris led the pledges to the United States and Texas flags. Graceland Jones gave the invocation. Hayzlie Gonzalez and Emily Marino introduced the Fowler administrators and the Faculty Council. Ian Garcia introduced the new officers including President Ariana Ramirez, Vice President Ximena Cruz, Secretary Michael Berry, Treasurer Jacob Sanchez, Parliamentarian Maddox De Jesus, Reporter Emily Marino, and Keeper of the Book Diva Desai. Chapter officers explained what it means to be a member of NEHS in the areas of scholarship, responsibility, service and leadership. Messiah Lewis introduced the guest speaker for the program, Mae Lois White. And the students, dressed in black and white, said the NEHS pledge and received their certificates of membership.
Inductees into the Fowler NEHS Chapter are Allen Andrade, Michael Berry, Ximena Cruz, Maddox De Jesus, Diva Desai, Emeri Galicia, Ian Garcia, Caleb Gilliam, Hayzlie Gonzalez, Eden Harris, Jordyn Hendrix, Briana Jones, Graceland Jones, Messiah Lewis, Emily Marino, Ezequiel Martinez, Nicole Martinez, Emileigh McGill, Fidel Memije, Lucas Morris, Jose Paloblanco, Ixsela Parra, Allison Ramirez, Ariana Ramirez, Armaury Ray, Mariana Rodriguez, Osiel Salazar, Jacob Sanchez, Tripp Sheedy, and Sophia Vizcaya.
Serving on the faculty council are Lisa Escobar, Evelyn Gallardo, Allyson Ingram, Marquita Jones, Eunise Obregon, and Mae Lois White. Debra Williamson serves as the Fowler NEHS Chapter Advisor. Vivian Fowler is led by Principal, Carrie McMinn, and Assistant Principal, Ritchell De La Hoya.
