Mount Pleasant Junior High School 7th and 8th graders competed in the annual Middle School District UIL Academic Meet at the beginning of February and brought home multiple medals and ribbons.

Mount Pleasant Junior High earned 10 team awards.

~The 8th grade Impromptu Speaking team of Brooke Alexander, Marianna Hernandez, and Atalee Gonzalez placed 1st as a team.

~The 8th grade Oral Reading team of Alexander, Valerie Cassio, and Atalee Gonzalez came in 1st as a team.

~The 8th grade Art team of Leticia Willis, Sebastian Heller, and McKensie Barnes won 2nd overall.

~The 8th grade Dictionary Skills team of Jamie Garrett, Anthony Gonzalez, Morgan Zepeda, and Brandon Carter placed 3rd as a team.

~The 8th grade Calculator team of Julian Chancellor, Alessandro Greco, Zakkary Rodriguez, and Rebecca Torres came in 3rd as a team.

~The 8th grade Music Memory Team of Jacob Baker, Miah Melendez, Zaid Perez, Jamie Garrett, Corben Craig, and Brandon Carter took 2nd place as a team.

~The 8th grade Editorial Writing team of Brissia Alvarez, Alondra Santos, Mallory Peel, and Ava Fite won 3rd place overall.

~The 8th grade Social Studies team of Aiden Mayfield, Keelin Schoenewe, Bailey Hall, and Julian Chancellor placed 3rd.

~The 7th grade Editorial Writing team of Zoei Craig, Nitalya Trimble, and Sabrina Otero won 3rd place overall.

~And the 7th grade Music Memory team of Lachlan Miles, Sara Vanhoose, and Gabriel Urista placed 2nd as a team.
