Tiger XC Wins at LeTourneau
The Tiger cross country team continued their strong start to the season coming off a second-place finish last week to take the top spot on the podium this past Saturday at the Nicole Leman Invitational held on the campus of LeTourneau University.
Mount Pleasant swept the podium with Lee Davis taking 1st place followed by Geovanni Calderon in 2nd place and Gilberth Landaverde in 3rd place. Enrique Marrufo and Alex Rivera also notched top ten finishes with a 6th and 7th place finish respectively. With five top ten finishers, Mount Pleasant easily won the team portion of the meet.
In the Varsity girls’ division, Brianna Gonzales and Marlyne Mendez finished inside the top ten in 9th and 10th place respectively.
On the junior varsity side, David Buendia finished in 3rd place, Michael Carrero 8th place, and Joey Dunn 9th place. The JV girls also had three top ten finishers with Lizbeth Alvarez placing 3rd , Karen Hernandez 4th , and Audrie Mendoza in 10th place.
The Tigers and Lady Tigers will look to continue their strong pre-district preparation this weekend as they travel to the Hallsville Invitational on Saturday.
