The Mount Pleasant Tigers and Lady Tigers began their Fall golf season on Monday with the opening tournament held at Paris Country Club. Both teams performed well with several securing top finishes, an encouraging sign for the rest of the season. The Tigers took home the team trophy with a team score of 310, besting second place Pleasant Grove by 18 shots.

Seniors Matthew Peterson and Brady Sisk finished 2nd and 3rd respectively with Peterson finishing just one shot behind the tournament winner. Peterson finished with a team best 73 while Sisk turned in a 75. George Burrows and Clayton Brison both shot 81 while Sam Sloan finished at 84 strokes. In the medalist group, Kade Strickland shot a 76, good for 4th place, Matthew Tucker 99, and Micah Tucker 106.

On the Lady Tiger side, Grelyn Goolsby took home 1st shooting an 86. Sophie Greco finished in 3rd with a 102 and Reese Ball finished 4th at 103.

The Tigers and Lady Tigers will have almost a month to tune up their swings before the next tournament on October 18 at Sulphur Springs Country Club. The golfers will tee off at 9:00 AM.
