Thirty Mt. Pleasant High School Journalism and Photography students have achieved Photoshop Certification and are now recognized as Adobe Certified Associates in Visual Communications using Adobe Photoshop CS6.
“They are the first group of students at MPHS to obtain Photoshop certification,” said John Whitten, MPHS Journalism teacher. ”According to representatives from Adobe, Mt. Pleasant and Hallsville are the only school districts in East Texas offering this certification.”
Earning this certification while still in high school will benefit these students in the future, particularly if they want to pursue a degree in graphic design.
“It will put them one step ahead of other students entering the graphic design program since very few students entering college have this certification,” Whitten added.
