Twenty-seven Corprew Elementary School 4th graders became members of the National Elementary Honor Society as the Corprew NEHS chapter held their annual induction ceremony on Thursday, October 23. NEHS recognizes 4th grade students for their outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated personal responsibility. The organization seeks to provide meaningful service activities for students to both the school and the community and to develop essential leadership skills in elementary school students.

Corprew Principal, Karen Williams, welcomed the guests in attendance. New members Cecilia Sanchez and Jonathan Barboza led the pledges to the American and Texas flags. New member Chloe Sharp gave the invocation. Corprew Assistant Principal, Donna Smith, introduced the guest speaker, Katie Gillean. The chapter officers, President Osmar Ramirez, Vice President Madden Watkins, Secretary Cristobal Tapia, and Treasurer D’Royce Evans explained the criteria for membership and the four characteristics of an NEHS member. And Corprew Assistant Principal, Tiffani Powell, introduced each new member as they walked across the stage to receive their certificate from Principal Williams.

The inductees into the Corprew NEHS Chapter are Daniel Adame, Ryder Allen, Evan Arrington, Jonathan Barboza, Michael Castrillo, Allison Delarosa, Corian Edney, D’Royce Evans, Benito Garcia, Emmalyn Gonzalez, Jesus Gonzalez, Kasper Hines, Lathan Lee, Zamarion Lee, Hezekiah Newton, Andre Piedre, Osmar Ramirez, Samuel Rodriguez, Cecilia Sanchez, Edgar Saucedo, Chloe Sharp, Cesar Solis, Emma Stringer, Cristobal Tapia, Eli Villarreal, Madden Watkins, and Sofia Zuniga.
