P. E. Wallace Middle School held their fifth National Elementary Honor Society Induction Ceremony on November 2.\u00a0 Thirty-nine Wallace 6th graders were inducted as members of the Wallace NEHS Chapter.<\/p>\n

The Wallace NEHS chapter recognizes 6th grade students for their outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated personal responsibility. The organization seeks to provide meaningful service activities for students to both the school and the community and to develop essential leadership skills in 6th grade students.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an honor and a privilege to be a member of the National Elementary Honor Society,\u201d said MPISD Director of Communication Dr. Judi Saxton. \u201cWe know these students will gain a lot from their involvement in NEHS and that membership will set them on a path to further academic success as they move through on to junior high and high school.\u201d<\/p>\n

To be a member of NEHS at Wallace, a student must have a cumulative average grade of 90%.\u00a0 Students are also judged on their level of personal responsibility.\u00a0 Once inducted, members are required to maintain the same level of performance in academics and responsibility. They are also required to attend monthly meetings and to participate in other chapter service projects and activities.<\/p>\n

MPISD now has nationally recognized Honor Society chapters on all of its campuses. \u201cWe are thrilled that an MPISD student can be a member of a nationally recognized Honor Society at their K-4 campus, Wallace, MPJHS and MPHS,\u201d Saxton added.<\/p>\n

New members of the Wallace Middle School Chapter of NEHS are: Jahir Alonso, Lainy Blackstone, Jacob Botello, Jacob Bristow, Samuel Brown, Ashlie Castillo, Nic Chappell III, Parker Colley, Connelly Cowan (President), Carlie Cunningham, Jamye Don Juan, Jacob Elliott, Karigan Fox, Juan Gandara, Connor Gillean, Jackelin Gomez, Grelyn Goolsby (Historian), Sabrina Gordon, Hannah Harvill, Mary Kaitlyn Heeren (Parliamentarian), Angel Herrera, Taylor Hubbs, Kason Kelley, Mackenzie Lide (Secretary), Zachary Milam, Jordan Neal, Katherine Ochoa, Juliana Perez, Joree Pierre-Antoine, Jaxson Ramsey, Holly Reese, Kimberly Robles, Rachel Rodriguez, Denise Saldivar, Brady Sisk, Sam Sloan, Keller Thompson (Treasurer), Anna Claire Wall (Vice President) and Cade Woods.
