Wallace Middle School and Brice Elementary School competed in the TYRA SSMS VEX IQ Robotics Competition on Saturday, December 7 at Sulphur Springs Middle School. The competition featured 30 teams from the surrounding area. In the VEX IQ competition, teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play with other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. This year\u2019s challenge involves driving the robot to pick up a ball, passing the ball to their partner team, and shooting the ball into a net for points. At the end of the qualification matches, Wallace Team 1 and Wallace Team 3 advanced to the final round.<\/h3>\n<h3>Wallace Team 1 finished the competition in in 7th place overall. Team members included Jake Jones, Braxton Arnold, Hatzael Antolin, and David Adame.<\/h3>\n<h3>Wallace Team 3 finished 14th overall. Team members were Carter Cameron, Thatcher Drange, Shane Dimon, and Kolton Heeren.<\/h3>\n<h3>The MPISD Robotics teams will resume competing after the holidays.
