This February students from four Mt. Pleasant ISD campuses competed in the Region 8 ESC Science Fair. This year students from each of those campuses brought home medals.<\/p>\n
P.E. Wallace Middle School 5th grader Kate Ball placed 1st with her project, \u201cTurn up the Base\u201d, which investigated which antacid relieved heartburn the best. She is the daughter of Tim and Rebecca Ball.<\/p>\n
Annie Sims Elementary School 4th grader Ava True Fite placed 2nd in the Behavioral\/Biological category with her project \u201cDo Your Senses Affect Your Taste\u201d which investigated whether sight and smell influence how food tastes. She is the daughter of Keres and Katie Fite.<\/p>\n
Corprew Elementary School 4th grader Aaliyah DeLaRosa placed 3rd in the Chemical\/Physical category with her project which investigated \u201cWhich Chocolate Melts Faster\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 She is the daughter of Jose DeLaRosa and Christine Granados.<\/p>\n
Two students from Mount Pleasant Junior High School placed at the Science Fair. Seventh grader Elijah Rider, the son of Nathan and Lisa Rider, placed 2nd with his project \u201cWho Heard It Best\u201d which tested band and choir students to see who was better at recognizing musical notes just by listening.<\/p>\n
Eighth grader Sam Brown, the son of Thomas and Carolyn Brown, placed 3rd with his project \u201cWhy Do I Need a Better Dog Hair Brush.\u201d He created the Hair Shark, a comb to use on his Labrador Retriever.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the first year that every MPISD campus that entered the Region 8 Science fair has brought home at least one medal,\u201d said Dr. Judi Saxton, MPISD\u2019s Director of Communications. \u201cWe congratulate these students and the teachers who worked with them to prepare them for the Science Fair.\u201d<\/p>\n
