A total of eight students out of more than 25 chess players qualified for this event by playing other players during the school year.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament was judged and supervised by Jason Moss of Communities in Schools and Annie Sims Chess Coach who taught and worked with all chess players throughout the school year. Third grader Matthew St. John took 1st place at the tournament.
