Lady Tiger Softball Results – 2\/12-2\/17<\/b><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Lady Tigers\u2019 Varsity softball team started off the 2024 season with a perfect week, racking up six wins including an undefeated slate in the Forney Tournament.\u00a0 MP kicked off the season on Tuesday (Feb. 13) with a 12-3 road win over Lindale.\u00a0 During the Forney Tournament, the Lady Tigers defeated Van (6-2), Granbury (8-1), New Diana (5-4), Richardson (14-2) and Midlothian Heritage (4-0).<\/b><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

MP 12, Lindale 3<\/b><\/h3>\n

Seniors Ella Cross and Amariya Miller led the offensive attack for the Lady Tigers.\u00a0 Cross and Miller finished the game with three hits each and three RBIs apiece.\u00a0 Lakyn Fortenberry and Kelsey Howard had a pair of singles each in the game.\u00a0 Howard scored three times.\u00a0 Morgan Hill had a hit and a pair of walks, while Azzy Fluellen had a hit, two walks and scored twice. \u00a0Kaylin Brannon scored twice and Kaylee Silman finished with a pair of free passes and two RBI.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Jordan Batchelor picked up the win in the circle, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out seven in five innings of work.\u00a0 Casey Jones finished the final two innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and fanning two.<\/b><\/h3>\n

MP 6, Van 2<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Lady Tigers erased a 1-0 deficit with a pair of runs in the top of fourth.\u00a0 Van rallied to tie the game at 2-2 until MP scored four unanswered runs in the top of fifth en route to a 6-2 win in the opening game of the Forney Tournament.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Cross led the Lady Tigers at the plate with a pair of hits and a run.\u00a0 Miller and Jones each had a hit, a double and single respectively and plated a two RBIs each.\u00a0 Howard singled and scored twice, while Silman and Batchelor each had a hit.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Conlee Zachry went the distance in the circle, throwing six full innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five.<\/b><\/h3>\n

MP 8, Granbury 1<\/b><\/h3>\n

MP jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and added three runs in the fourth to pull away with a 8-1 victory.\u00a0 <\/b><\/h3>\n

The Lady Tigers finished with 10 hits in the game with Hill leading the way with three singles.\u00a0 Cross added a pair of hits including a home run and three RBIs.\u00a0 Brannon tripled, singled, scored twice and had two runs.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Batchelor picked up the win in the circle, allowing one run on two hits and fanning five.<\/b><\/h3>\n

MP 5, New Diana 4<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Lady Tigers rallied from a 4-1 deficit in their last at bat to walk off a 5-4 win over New Diana.\u00a0 With one out, the Lady Tigers put together four straight hits.\u00a0 Miller singled, Batchelor doubled, Howard singled and Fluellen tripled.\u00a0 Cross slapped a hard ball off the short stop to score Fluellen for the comeback win.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Fluellen led the charge with two hits, two runs and a RBI.\u00a0 Batchelor finished with two hits while Cross, Hill, Zachry, Miller and Howard each had a hit.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Batchelor picked up the win in relief, going two innings, allowing no runs on no hits.\u00a0 Zachry started the game and pitched four innings, allowing four hits and four runs.<\/b><\/h3>\n

MP 14, Richardson 2<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Lady Tigers carried the momentum of their walk off win into their first at bat against Richardson, scoring 10 runs.\u00a0 Cross, Silman and Batchelor had two hits apiece.\u00a0 Cross tripled, scored twice and had three RBI.\u00a0 Along with the two hits, Silman walked, scored three times and had one RBI.\u00a0 Batchelor tripled and plated two runs.\u00a0 Hill and Howard both tripled in the game.\u00a0\u00a0 Fluellen singled and pushed across two runs.\u00a0 Bianca Garcia walked and scored a run in the game.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Jones went the complete game in the circle, allowing two runs on two hits and struck out two.<\/b><\/h3>\n

MP 4, Midlothian Heritage 0<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Lady Tigers concluded their play of the Forney Tournament with a 4-0 shutout of Midlothian Heritage.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Batchelor pitched a three-hit shutout while going the complete game, striking out six.\u00a0 The Lady Tigers played really well on defense behind Batchelor, as MP worked out of several jams to keep the shut out intake.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Offensively, the Lady Tigers scored on some timely hitting\u00a0 and was able to double up their opponent.\u00a0 Fortenberry led MP with two hits and scored a run.\u00a0 Cross singled, scored once and had a RBI.\u00a0 Zachry, Hill and Batchelor each had a hit, while Batchelor and Silman both had a RBI apiece.<\/b><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n
