At the end of prelims, MPHS was named an Area Finalist, the first time the band has made it out of Area prelims since 1989. After marching again in finals, the Goin\u2019 Gold Band earned a 7th place ranking.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u201cThis year our band program has been extremely successful due to the hard work of the students,\u201d said Head Director, Dr. Theodus Luckett III. \u201cWe have a special group of seniors who have really worked hard this year. The Mount Pleasant High School band profile has definitely been elevated. We have received lots of positive comments about our program from across the state and we look forward to what we will accomplish in the future.\u201d<\/h3>\n<h3>The Goin\u2019 Gold Band will perform in their final regular season halftime shows on Friday, October 24 at Sam Parker Stadium and on Friday, November 4 in Hallsville. They will then turn their attention to All Region and Wind Ensemble auditions.
