{"id":5638,"date":"2019-04-03T10:35:44","date_gmt":"2019-04-03T15:35:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mpisd.net\/mphs\/?p=5638"},"modified":"2019-04-03T10:35:44","modified_gmt":"2019-04-03T15:35:44","slug":"mphs-student-receives-2000-scholarship-from-heb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mpisd.net\/mphs\/mphs-student-receives-2000-scholarship-from-heb\/","title":{"rendered":"MPHS Student Receives $2,000 Scholarship from HEB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mount Pleasant High School student, Carl \u201cTripp\u201d Hinton, received a surprise visit from H-E-B during his English class Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Hinton received a \u201cbig check,\u201d for a $2,000 scholarship, along with an assortment of sweets from H-E-B to share with his classmates.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship program is a partnership between H-E-B and the University Interscholastic League. 15 scholarships worth $2,000 each are being awarded to high schol students across Texas competing in UIL events for their outstanding achievements in community service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cH-E-B, in parternship with the UIL, recognizes Tripp Hinton for his selfless commitment to serve his community,\u201d said Mabrie Jackson, director of public affairs for H-E-B. \u201cTripp&#8217;s excellent academic work ethic, determination, and spirit of giving provide a strong foundation for his future success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Finalists were chosen from more than 450 applications through a rubric based on grades, community service, volunteerism, and an essay question.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mount Pleasant High School student, Carl \u201cTripp\u201d Hinton, received a surprise visit from H-E-B during his English class Friday afternoon.
