{"id":5574,"date":"2019-03-20T11:14:37","date_gmt":"2019-03-20T16:14:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mpisd.net\/mphs\/?p=5574"},"modified":"2019-03-20T11:14:37","modified_gmt":"2019-03-20T16:14:37","slug":"mphs-math-team-members-compete-at-tmsca-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mpisd.net\/mphs\/mphs-math-team-members-compete-at-tmsca-state\/","title":{"rendered":"MPHS Math team members compete at TMSCA State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mount Pleasant High School math team competed in the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) State Meet during Spring Break.\u00a0 The meet was held at the University of Texas at San Antonio on March 16, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>In Mathematics, the team of Jose Liera, David Barboza, Shelby Courreges, and Miguel Segura placed 3rd out of twenty-six 5A teams competing.\u00a0 Individually, Liera placed 3rd and Barboza was 8th in 12th grade, Courreges placed 10th in 11th grade, and Segura was 9th in 10th grade.<\/p>\n<p>In Calculator Applications, the team of Liera, Barboza, Segura, and Samip Poudel placed 7th.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas Math and Science Coaches Association is dedicated to promoting excellence in math and science through competition.\u00a0 Membership is limited to Texas public and private schools, by campus.<\/p>\n<p>The MPHS Math team is coached by Osias Hernandez.\u00a0 The team will compete at the district meet March 29-30.<\/p>\n<p>Photo L to R:<br \/>\nDavid Barboza, Miguel Segura, Coach Osias Hernandez, Jose Liera, Shelby Courreges<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mount Pleasant High School math team competed in the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) State Meet during Spring Break.\u00a0 The meet was held at the University of Texas at San Antonio on March 16, 2019.
