The Mount Pleasant High School UIL Academic team was back in action on Saturday, November 3 at the Lindale Invitational held on the Lindale High School campus.\u00a0 Overall, the team took second place at the tournament.<\/p>\n
The Speech and Debate team took 1st place as a team.\u00a0 Reid Pinckard placed 5th in LD Debate.\u00a0 Audrey Courreges took 6th place in Persuasive Extemporaneous Speaking.\u00a0 In Informative Extemporaneous Speaking, Ryan Sharp placed 4th.\u00a0 In Poetry Interpretation, Jaquacy Minter took 1st Place.\u00a0 In Dramatic Interpretation, Jaquacy Minter placed 1st, Aslin Barrientos placed 3rd, and Jonathan Godbolt placed 4th.\u00a0 In Humorous Interpretation, Ryan Sharp placed 1st, Skylee Ford placed 5th, and Jaquacy Minter took 6th.\u00a0 In Program of Oral Interpretation, Jaquacy Minter was 2nd, Ryan Sharp was 3rd, Skylee Ford was 4th, Aslin Barrientos was 5th, and Jonathan Godbolt was 6th.
\nThe Spelling team took 1st place as a team.\u00a0 Individually, Rocio Hernandez placed 1st and Anna Harris placed 5th.<\/p>\n
The Social Studies team placed 3rd as a team.\u00a0 Individually, Erica Salazar placed 6th.<\/p>\n
In Math, Jose Liera placed 3rd in Calculator Applications and 4th in Mathematics.\u00a0 In Journalism, Rebecca Yox placed 4th in Editorials while Megan Adams placed 4th in Copy Editing.<\/p>\n
