The Mt. Pleasant High School UIL Academic team brought home gold from the Sulphur Springs UIL Academic Meet this past weekend. That gold? First Place and Sweepstakes!<\/p>\n
\u201cThe students we took to the Sulphur Springs UIL Academic Meet this past weekend spent hours preparing for the contest and it sure paid off,\u201d said UIL Sponsor Regina Crouch. \u201cWe took 1st place in Calculator Applications, Current Events and Math and 2nd place in Computer Science. Our CX Debate team swept the meet. I am really proud of how our student performed. To make the win even better, we beat Hallsville who hasn\u2019t lost a meet in 8 years!\u201d<\/p>\n
The MPHS Cross Examination team took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The team of Anthony Preciado and Seth Robertson placed 1st. Seventh graders Connelly Cowan and Mackenzie Lide placed 2nd. The team of Devon Reynolds and Maritza Zambrano placed 3rd.<\/p>\n
The 1st\u00a0 place Calculator Applications Team includes Carlos Barboza, David Barboza, Daniel Hernandez and Husban Shahid.\u00a0 Members of the 1st place Current Events team are Jacob Baker, Enrique Martinez, Clarissa Santos and Nathon Segovia. The 1st place Math Team members are Carlos Barboza, David Barboza, Daniel Hernandez and Jose Liera. The 2nd place Computer Science Team includes Caleb Huggins, Michael Irvin and Ben Grissom.<\/p>\n
