Mount Pleasant High School Homecoming Week kicks off with Tiger Fest 2016.\u00a0 This festival celebrating Mt. Pleasant ISD campuses and students will take place on 2nd Street on the north side of the square in downtown Mt. Pleasant Monday, September 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will include\u00a0 a community wide pep rally at 6:45 p.m. featuring the MPHS Cheerleaders and Tiger Dolls, the MPJHS Cheerleaders and STOMP Team, the Tiger football team and, of course, the Sweepstakes winning MPHS Goin\u2019 Gold Band.<\/p>\n
The pep rally will also feature the MPJH Dancers and cheerleaders, students from Corprew, E.C. Brice and Annie Sims Elementary Schools and talks by both football and volleyball players. Finally, the Football Princesses and Homecoming Court will be announced.<\/p>\n
Booths from all MPISD campuses and many student organizations will line 2nd Street. The MPHS Career and Technical Education Department student organizations like FCCLA, HOSA and TAFE will be there. E.C. Brice Elementary will have a photo booth with the Tiger mascot, Fowler Elementary will have a bean bag toss and Wallace will have a carnival style balloon dart game.\u00a0 The Child Development Center will have a football toss and a bean bag toss while Annie Sims Elementary will be giving away Blow Pops and selling t-shirts and raffle tickets for a Louis Vuitton purse.<\/p>\n
Wallace will also have a food trailer with corn dogs, sausage on a stick, tornado tarts and drinks.\u00a0 \u201cWe\u2019d like to thank Tornado Tator and Marshall Hood for donating use of the trailer for free,\u201d said Wallace Principal James Gibson.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe high school sponsored Tiger Fest last year and it was such a success we decided to hold the event again,\u201d explained Casie Homer, MPHS Coordinator of Special Projects. \u201cThe entire Mount Pleasant community is invited to this activity-filled event that will have fun things to do for the entire family. Tiger Fest will conclude with a giant pep rally on the Courthouse Steps. We hope everyone will come out to this free event and stay for the Pep Rally.\u00a0 It should be a lot of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
