A record 87 members of the Mount Pleasant High School Goin\u2019 Gold Band earned 127 first division medals at the UIL Region IV Solo and Ensemble contest on Friday, February 28 at New Boston High School. This result shattered the previous record of 73 students and 103 medals in 2025.<\/h3>\n

Junior Natalie Hines qualified as a soloist and as part of two different ensembles. Sophomore Jayden Adame qualified as a part of three different ensembles. Senior Julian Chancellor and junior Bryan Garcia qualified as both a soloist and with an ensemble. Thirty-three students qualified as part of two different ensembles including Camauri Adams, Alex Alvarez, Jamaree Armour, Abram Chavez, Aiden Chavez, Dylan Cigarroa, Sebastian Contreras, Bruno Deleon, Angel Farias, Sandy Farias, Nancy Gil, Anthony Gonzalez, Ana\u2019liece Guerrero, Isahi Hernandez, Julian Herrera, Isaac Jetton, William Lashley, Allison Lopez, Cielo Lopez, Axel Mata, Jesus Mata, Makayla Mather, Odalys Mejia, Edward Moya, Zac Newman, Jose Olivares, Ayden Padilla, Aaron Robles, Alfredo Santillan, Nathan Standefer, Cindy Valle, Aaron Waldrep, and Evie Whisenhunt. MPJH Band members Abram Chavez, Mahir Estrada, Robbie James, William Lashley, Elizabeth Lopez, Josiah Sheppard, and Nathan Standefer qualified as eighth graders. And two students from the Blazin\u2019 Blue Brahma Band at Paul Pewitt High School, Fatima Ibarra and Jareb Newberry, joined an MPHS percussion ensemble.<\/h3>\n
