Students at Vivian Fowler Elementary attended a very special career day on Friday, March 31, the first since April of 2019. The event was kicked off on Thursday, March 30, by Ladarrius \u201cLuke\u201d Craddock, a former Fowler student and current teacher and coach in MPISD. Craddock spoke to the students about their character, the choices that they make, and being an asset to your community. He told them they had the power to make things happen in their lives and shared his experience when recruiters came to visit him at the high school about playing football in college.<\/h3>\n

Students dressed up as the career they wanted to have as an adult and went room to room to listen to speakers present about their jobs. Most of the representatives were from our local area, but SPC Joshua Reyes and SPC Aaliyah Contreras from the United States Army Texas Joint Counterdrug Taskforce came all the way from Irving.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThis was the largest Career Day that we have ever had at Fowler,\u201d said counselor, Debra Williamson. \u201cI just wanted to make sure that the kids had a great time as they were learning about the different careers that await them. We were happy to see Luke once again in this building. It brought back many memories.\u201d<\/h3>\n
