Miss Scotlyn Brooke, also known as Scottie B., is the granddaughter of Karen Crooks, Corprew P.E. teacher and also the Children\u2019s Miracle Network Champion. She was born at Christus Hospital in Shreveport at just 25 weeks weighing a mere 1 lb. 13 oz. and 13 inches long, just barely longer than a standard ruler.<\/h3>\n<h3>Her mom, Cari, explained to the Corprew students that CMN provides many items that are essential for premature children such as warming beds. She explained that keeping these babies warm is critical because if they are not warm enough, their bodies burn calories to try to keep them warm which causes them to lose weight. They also provide items such as cameras at the end of the beds so that parents can check on and see their children from home.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u201cThe Children\u2019s Miracle Network (CMN) is a partner with this awesome hospital,\u201d said Crooks. \u201cThe CMN board met Scottie and her mom and dad, Cari and Andrew Onellion, and chose her to be the CMN CHAMPION. She has a lot of events and fundraisers she attends to raise money for CMN.\u201d<\/h3>\n<h3>Corprew\u2019s fund raiser ends on December 16, just before the students are out of school for the holidays.
