Kayla Elizabeth Jackson, an incoming 6th Grader at P.E. Wallace Middle School, will attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. this summer. The 6-day program provides middle school students from across the country a historical view of leadership and encourages them to develop their own leadership skills and strategies for success in the 21st century.

Kayla will attend fun and exciting workshops and participate in simulations to expand her leadership abilities. She will explore historically significant sites, such as Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and memorials throughout Washington, D.C.

Kayla is a member of the Wallace Honor Choir and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She hopes to become a veterinarian. She was nominated to attend the conference by Wallace 5th grade Math teacher Tonya Schultz.
