P.E. Wallace Middle School presented their 19th Annual Veteran’s Day Program to a packed house. Veterans and their families were invited to enjoy a holiday meal then to watch a special patriotic program designed to honor their service to the United States.

Veterans from the various branches of the military stood as their flags were presented and their anthems played by the MPHS Jazz Band. Active members of the military, veterans who work for MPISD, First Responders and military widows were also recognized.

Dr. Clint Davis, Pastor of First Baptist Church thanked the veterans for their service and encouraged the students to always honor our veterans and the flag for which they fought and for which so many died. He also talked about the reaction he had had when he visited the graveyard at Omaha Beach in France.

The program closed with a moment of silence as the POW/MIA flag was presented and Tim Ervin played “Taps”.
