MPHS Art student winners with their works (ArtFair)

MPHS Art Students Shine At Fair

Current and Former Students Take Home Awards

Mount Pleasant High School Art Students entered 39 entries in this year's Titus County Fair. Omar Dorantes, May graduate entered three pieces and won the Sweepstakes Award, First Place overall and Third Place overall. May graduate Pedro Hernandez, won Second Place overall.
    Current MPHS students Cecelia Sanchez, John Sanford and Kevin Suarez
took First place in their categories. Taking Second place in their categories were
Ruth Acosta, Ryan Gannon, Brenda Suarez, Kevin Suarez, Josh Webster and Makayla Zacharias. Jesus Bernabe and Keziah Sanchez won Third place in their categories. There were also ten honorable mentions.
    "I am extremely proud of these students, those currently enrolled and our two recent graduates Omar and Pedro," said MPHS art teacher Jerry Boyd. "They are dedicated to their art. I expect to see great things from all of them in the future and look forward to a great year for the MPHS Art Department."
