The Air Force Association sponsors a scholarship essay competition. The topic for this year is "Part of the Air Force Mission Statement is Integrity; What does that mean to you?" Your essay is to have between 500-600 words. If you are interested, pick up the information sheet from Mrs. Cowan. The deadline is December 24th.
The AXA Achievement scholarship is now available. To be eligible you must demonstrate ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, respect for yourself, your family and your community, and the ability to succeed in college. The Daughters of the American Revolution sponsor two scholarship essay competitions. The topic for the Christopher Columbus essay is "Discuss five perils faced by Christopher Columbus' expeditions and how Columbus and his crew overcame them". The topic for the Good Citizens essay will be revealed to those interested at a later date. If you need more information on these, see Mrs. Cowan. The deadline is November 21st for both.
Al's Formal Wear sponsors 2 college scholarships worth $2500 each. To enter, visit an Al's Formal Wear store or logon to www.alsformalwear.com. The deadline is June 10th.
The Horatio Alger scholarship is now available. To be eligible you must be a graduating senior, intend to pursue a bachelor's degree in the fall of 2009, demonstrate financial need, be involved in school and community activities, have a minimum 2.0 grade point average, and be a US citizen. To apply, logon to www.horatioalger.com. The deadline is October 30th.
The National Association of Secondary School Principals announces the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards for outstanding acts of community service. If you have participated in community service activities over the past year, you can apply at www.prudential.com/spirit. The deadline is October 31st.

Seniors...the Coca Cola scholarship application is now available online. Visit www.coca-colascholars.org to apply. The deadline is October 31st.
TCU offers scholarships to student enterpreneurs. If you currently run your own business see Mrs. Cowan for instructions on how to apply or logon to www.tcuyeya.org. The deadline is November 1st.
Burger King offers a scholarship for those students who fit their criteria. To find out if you qualify and to apply, visit www.bk.com/scholars. The deadline is February 2nd, 2009.
