Texas 5th graders are required to take Math, Reading and Science TAKS tests. Wallace 5th grader Mark Quiring, son of Dr. Mark and Kay Quiring, scored 100 % on each of these tests.
Texas 6th graders are required to take Math and Reading TAKS tests. Three Wallace 6th graders scored 100% on both. Shelby Bourns, daughter of Donna Bourns, Cullen Grubbs, son of Darrell and Amy Grubbs, and Kendall Miche, daughter of Lee and Linda Miche, didn't miss a question on either test.
"This is quite an achievement," said Wallace Principal Rodney Huffman. "Not many students earn perfect scores on TAKS tests. We are proud of these four students and I commend the teachers and parents who worked so hard to prepare them for the tests."
