MPHS Number Sense Team Advances to State
The Mount Pleasant High School
Number Sense team continued its winning ways placing first in the
Regional UIL competition and advancing to the state level. The team
will compete against other 4A schools from across the state May 3
in Austin.
"I am extremely proud of these students,"
said MPHS Principal David Davis. "They have worked very hard to
earn their way to state. I also want to commend their teacher and
coach Andy Speir. He has spent countless hours with them to prepare
them for this competition. This is also a young team. Three of the
four are sophomores and to make state in the 10th grade is quite an
accomplishment."
Team members include senior Matt Pearson
and sophomores Feiran Chen, Carlos Mendez and Lucas Quary.
