Four Mount Pleasant Junior High School students, one 7th grader and three 8th graders participated in the recent Region 8 Education Service Center Science Fair.

Seventh grader Mackenzie Lide won 2nd place for her project on Metamerism, a perceived matching of the colors that, based on differences in spectral power distribution, do not actually match.

Eighth grader Anaeli Navarro studied the defense mechanism grasshoppers use called “tobacco juice”. Brock Shavers examined the relationship between increasing temperatures of water and evaporation rates. Joselynn Smith studied the ph value of water from various sources.
