The Mount Pleasant High School UIL Academic team was back in action on Saturday, November 3 at the Lindale Invitational held on the Lindale High School campus.  Overall, the team took second place at the tournament.

The Speech and Debate team took 1st place as a team.  Reid Pinckard placed 5th in LD Debate.  Audrey Courreges took 6th place in Persuasive Extemporaneous Speaking.  In Informative Extemporaneous Speaking, Ryan Sharp placed 4th.  In Poetry Interpretation, Jaquacy Minter took 1st Place.  In Dramatic Interpretation, Jaquacy Minter placed 1st, Aslin Barrientos placed 3rd, and Jonathan Godbolt placed 4th.  In Humorous Interpretation, Ryan Sharp placed 1st, Skylee Ford placed 5th, and Jaquacy Minter took 6th.  In Program of Oral Interpretation, Jaquacy Minter was 2nd, Ryan Sharp was 3rd, Skylee Ford was 4th, Aslin Barrientos was 5th, and Jonathan Godbolt was 6th.
The Spelling team took 1st place as a team.  Individually, Rocio Hernandez placed 1st and Anna Harris placed 5th.

The Social Studies team placed 3rd as a team.  Individually, Erica Salazar placed 6th.

In Math, Jose Liera placed 3rd in Calculator Applications and 4th in Mathematics.  In Journalism, Rebecca Yox placed 4th in Editorials while Megan Adams placed 4th in Copy Editing.
