Taylor Craig, a senior outside hitter and team captain, had an outstanding season for the Lady Tiger Volleyball team in 2016.   She led the team with 365 kills (7th in all of East Texas) 547 digs (9th in all of East Texas) and added 66 assists (top 25) and 28 blocks.  She was named to the 16-5A All District 1st Team immediately after the season, and was named to the 16-5A Academic All-District team, as well as the Texas Girls Coaches Association Academic All-State team, but her awards have not stopped there.

Just after Christmas, we learned that Taylor was named to East Texas Sporting News Volleyball Super Team – 3rd Team.  We have now learned she has been recognized by the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Honorable Mention!!!  To be named to an ALL-STATE team is to be mentioned among the best players in 5A in the entire state of Texas.  It is one of the highest honors for a high school athlete.  The Lady Tiger volleyball program is extremely proud of Taylor for what she did for the program, on and off the floor.   If you see her, please congratulate her for her hard work and these accomplishments.  She is very deserving!
