The staff and students at Vivian Fowler Elementary School thanked Jason Reid of State Farm Insurance this morning for his sponsorship of The Character Network programming.  Jim Lord, founder of the program, was also on hand for the presentation.

The Character Network programming, “Bully Alerts” and “The Beginning of a Hero”, plays during the Tuesday and Thursday morning assemblies at Fowler.

“Bully Alert” is a series of two-minute stories that tell of bullying situations and how they were resolved by a teacher, peer, administrator, or parent. “The Beginning of a Hero” is also a series of two-minute audio presentations that spotlight famous people of great accomplishment helping others.

According to Lord, “Just as these heroes started out planting seeds of accomplishment in their childhoods, the program encourages young listeners to consider their own futures by following the examples presented in these stories.”

Vivian Fowler has used The Character Network programs for the past 10 years.
