Amanda Jones, who has served as an Assistant Principal at Frances Corprew Elementary School for the last two years, has been named Principal of the School replacing Estelle Deloney who has retired. Karen Bogan, currently a teacher and coach at Mt. Pleasant High School, will replace Jones as Corprew Assistant Principal.  Jones will begin her new duties as Corprew Principal effective immediately.  Bogan will begin her new position at Frances Corprew on July 5.

Amanda Jones is a graduate of Pittsburg High School. She received her teaching degree from Texas A&M and her Masters in Mathematics Curriculum & Instruction through the University of Texas. She earned her alternative principal certification through Teach Texas.
Jones taught 3rd grade in Mt. Vernon for 10 years then came to Corprew as the Instructional Math Coach in 2013. She was named Assistant Principal in 2014. Jones and her husband Eric have two sons, Cody, 22 and Braden, 19.

Karen Bogan is a graduate of Rivercrest High School. She went to Southern Arkansas University-Magnolia on academic and basketball scholarships, graduating in 2000 with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She received her alternative certification in Life Science from LeTourneau University. She began teaching at MPHS in 2004, teaching PreAP Biology and serving as Head Girls’ Track Coach.  She graduated from Texas A&M Commerce in 2015 with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.  The daughter of Eddie and Bobbie Williams, she has a ten-year-old son, Reggie Webster.
