MPHS UIL Academic Team Takes Sweepstakes at North Lamar

The Mt. Pleasant High School UIL Academic team went up against 20 other schools at the North Lamar UIL Academic Meet and when the scores had been totaled, they had earned 1^st place and brought home the Sweepstakes trophy.

“We took 66 students to the North Lamar UIL Academic Meet this past weekend and earned a total of 388 points overall,” said UIL Sponsor Regina Crouch. “We took 1^st place in Calculator Applications, Math, Speech and Spelling 2^nd place in Accounting and Social Studies. The second place school earned only 208 points.  I am really proud of how our student performed. This was a great lead-in to our Invitational Meet here this coming weekend.”

Many students earned medals in their individual events as well as earning team awards.
