MPHS Speech and Debate Places Second at North Lamar Tourney

The Mount Pleasant High School Speech and Debate team continued their season this past Saturday, October 13th at the North Lamar Tournament in Paris.  The team placed 2nd as a whole out of 12 teams competing.

Individually, Tripp Hinton placed second in three separate events—Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation and Prose.  Ja’Quacy Minter placed 1st in Dramatic Interpretation and 2nd in Poetry.  In Congressional Debate, Isabella Greco placed 2nd and Caroline Rose placed 4th out of over 25 competitors.  Reid Pinckard placed 4th in Varsity LD Debate.  In Varsity CX Debate the team of Taylor Hubbs and Preston Nguyen placed 6th.

MPHS is hosting a full UIL tournament this Saturday, October 20th on the Mount Pleasant High School campus.
