Homecoming Week in Mt. Pleasant ISD

Mount Pleasant High School Homecoming Week kicks off with Tiger Fest 2017.  This festival celebrating Mt. Pleasant ISD campuses and students will take place on 2nd Street on the north side of the square in downtown Mt. Pleasant Monday, September 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will include a community wide pep rally at 6:45 p.m. featuring the MPHS Cheerleaders and Tiger Dolls, the MPJH Cheerleaders, the Tiger football team and, of course, the Sweepstakes winning MPHS Goin’ Gold Band.

The pep rally will also feature the MPJH Dancers and cheerleaders and talks by both football and volleyball players. Finally, the Football Princesses and Homecoming Court will be announced.

Booths from MPISD campuses and many student organizations will line 2nd Street. The MPHS Career and Technical Education Department student organizations TPSA, HOSA, FCCLA and FFA will be there. The MPHS Student Council, Cheerleaders, Choir, Art and Cosmetology Departments and NTHS will have booths. The MPJHS Cheerleaders and P.E. Wallace Middle School will have booths as will the four elementary campuses who are combining in one booth.

Pretzel sticks, beef jerky and BBQ sandwiches will be available for purchase.

“The high school sponsored Tiger Fest the last two last years and it is becoming a special part of Homecoming week,” explained Dr. Judi Saxton, MPISD’s Director of Communications. “We do invite the entire Mount Pleasant community to this activity-filled event that will have things to do for the entire family. We hope everyone will come out to this free event.  It should be a lot of fun.”
